Since 1986, Red Thunder Native Dance Theatre from Calgary, Alberta, Canada has been educating and entertaining audiences of all ages in the ways and culture of the Plains Indians. 

In 2009, Red Thunder - The Next Generation, brings the dynamic Arts in Education program "People of the Land" to all school audiences K-12.  Included in this highly colorful program are the pow wow dances of the Plains Indians with explanations of how the dances came to be, how the regalia was developed and what the significance of the dances is to Indian life.  With a cast of 5-7 dancers, this talented ensemble recreates an historic setting and takes audiences back in time. 

An evening with Red Thunder - The Next Generation brings a more contemporary feel to age old discussions of identity, conservation and well-being.

Red Thunder - The Next Generation are available for school performances, workshops in hoop dance and teepee making, evening concert performances and residencies.
